At Canon Virginia, our most valuable resource is our members. Working together with the Commonwealth of Virginia and the City of Newport News, the Canon Workforce Development Center (CWDC) opened in 2008.
The Canon Workforce Development Center actively recruits many of the best and the brightest to combine their talents with the Canon spirit and culture, to help refine today’s technologies, and to help create new solutions for our customers with market-leading products and services.
To achieve outstanding reliability and performance for our customers, CVI members receive job specialized training in cooperation with local colleges and universities, the Commonwealth of Virginia, and the City of Newport News. Through a collaborative partnership, both Thomas Nelson Community College and Rappahannock Community College instructors deliver classes at the Canon Workforce Development Center. Hundreds of current and new members have already enhanced their skills and education as a result.
The Center also serves as a training site for all Canon Americas employees, bringing Canon employees from across the US, Latin America, South America, and Canada here to the Virginia Peninsula. Canon Virginia is also committed to enhancing workforce development in our region. We are active participants on several workforce development committees as well as a partner with local public school systems.
